NEUTRALS...BUILDING A GOOD CLOSET!

Its been years since I spent time dressing stylish so I feel like I am starting with a bare closet and I don't have alot to build on. As a safe rule I don't believe you should participate in every trend out there, only what "works" for you and what has some staying power; sad to say but I will not be rocking the harem pants anytime soon sorry MC Hammer. Also if you did you would be overhauling your closet every 4 months to keep up that would be exhausting and expensive. I like to avoid the trends that could possibly just be a flash in a pan, I think this is easy when the trends are based on a feel of the clothes like edgy or feminine, instead of something based on a particular item, like fringe vests. Since I don't want to spend my spring and summer collecting plain basics I have decided to purchase mostly neutral items that fall into the current trends.

Neutral colored tops with trendy detailing that fall under current styles but the colors will keep classic.

Basic bottoms in neutral tones, like black capris, a dark wash skinny jean, also some classic cut trouser shorts.

This may not bring alot of color into my wardrobe right away, but its the smartest way to build up your closet with quality pieces on a tight budget. A good inexpensive alternitive to bring in certain trends and color is to let your accessories do it. This is my goal plan to acheiving my ultimate closet with out spending a fortune. But I will tackle this more Later!

I also have set Two main rules: If I am purchasing a $$ piece it must combine atleast two trends and I have to really love it so I know I will wear it alot!
