DOLCE VITA....SWEET SHOE!!!

WOW Summer is on the brink and so are sandals. Gladiators are still going strong but I feel like T-strap standals are also crowding the shelves. Its a safe choice for those who feel that the gladiators are a bit much for them, but still gives that same impact. Also I think it is smarter to purchase a T-strap, such a classic that it should hold a bit more staying power in your closet than a gladiator sandal.

In expanding my sandal collection for summer I have fallen for the Dolce vita brand! Last year Jeffery Campbell stole my heart with my still favorite brown fringe gladiators but this season DOLCE VITA has moved in. I am still one color short for my sandal inventory and that is BLACK!! I have gone nuts for black lately and have added alot of black pieces to my closet only to realize that I don't have a great pair of causal black sandals to wear with things. So an adorable Black Dolce Vita sandal has been added to my HIT-LIST! Watch out DOLCE I'm coming for you!!!

This is the sandal I am really after the Athens-39....not longer being made :( so typical this happens everytime I find the perfect shoe its discontinued!! This is a new style that just came out called the "Drake" its a bootie style sandal and is very cute but I really want something with less coverage.

This sandal is another cute option I like that its like a fancy flip-flop easy to slide on and off.

I already own this pair...I couldn't help myself! I was in Nordstroms and it was the first day we could wear sandals in 7mths!!!! It just so happens to also be the exact match to my Amethyst Balenciaga City bag it was destiny!!! Its so fun to have a pop of color in your sandal collection!

MUSTHAVE ITEM OF WEEK! POCKET TANK!!!!

I"Heart" shopbop lookbooks!!! They inspire me all the time, it is one of my favorite online stores for $pecial items worth splurging!! They create these create lookbooks that give me such great ideas for putting outfits together. I have been dressing like a mom for so long and not a fashionista ;( That I am outta practice. I really trust the shopbop crew and think they do a great job of being really on point on current styles and trends...because of this I am always borrowing images from their site to post here. They are my #1 fashion research site for sure!!!

Here are a few images taken from their Alexander Wang pocket tank lookbook. I recently bought a pocket tank and think these are 3 super different looks for how to wear it!

FOREVER 21!!!

Forever 21 gives me an anxiety attack upon entry due to its enormous size and mess...but if you can see past the racks of junk and herds of teenage girls getting shirts to go clubbing you might actually find a gem hinding in the racks. Like shopping anywhere its has its pros and cons. The clothes are very inexpensive and and b/c of this if you aren't careful can look cheap or fall apart. But the plus side is that its a great place to buy tops that are in style at the moment. The low prices allow you to stock your closet without breaking the bank. Also they are great about creating things that look very close to high price designers fashions. I know this is a bummer to the big budget designers but frankley I don't have $300 to spend on a blouse that will be outta style next year, so I appreciate a similar version for under $20!

I bought 4 items recently and came out under $60, it was pretty great! Two shirts, a dress, and a scarf. One of the lucky items I found was a Racerback pocket tank very similar to the popular Alexander Wang silk tanks that are hot with celebs! Anyway Mine is a dark purple rayon and I paid only $12, the designer version retails for $150!

I bought this adorable mini dress above for only $19 its perfect for summer and the pattern is really cute on. It falls great under the whole tribal trend thats popular right now and the colors are great! I have been on the hunt for a cute plaid shirt for a long time!!! I have tried lots of different ones on and always end up looking like a farm girl! This shirt was the best find of the day...the colors looked great a medium fit me perfect and the 3/4 length sleeves make it great for year round wear! I have already worn it twice and got compliments from a sales associate asking where I bought it. FOREVER 21 RULE....NEVER ADMIT THATS WHERE ITS FROM!! LETTING PEOPLE THINK YOU PAID MORE FOR IT IS HALF THE FUN! I just shrugged I don't remember of say...TEXAS!! LOL!!
I found this dress on their website its really similar to the expensive GYPSY05 line of tie dye only at a fraction the price!!
This tunic top is adorable and I could see it available on some fancy boutique website like shopbop!! I think its super cute and would be awesome for summer!!

Overall Forever 21 is a great place for trendy things and low prices. Its not however the only place you should shop . Think carefully before all purchases their return policy is horrible/non-exsistent!!

Like with all things " A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY"!

Blake Lively

Blake Lively looks amazing in this jumper by ADAM the color and cut is amazing not to mention her tan and awesome figure! If only I had her body! This is the second fav jumper I have seen this season. It retails for over $300 or else I would be all over it!

New Bikini after Baby

While looking for cute tops in one of my favorite stores "South Moon Under" I found this adorable bikini by Sofia for Vix. I love the jade/teal color of the animal print. I decided to try it on and the DH decided we had to have it!! I had just had Oliver 4wks before buying this so was a little nervous. DH said it looked great so we got it. The best part for me was how the top fit. I have a big issue with tops being too small and bottoms being too big but this fit perfect! Hopefully it will look even better buy the time I actually wear it!! Buying a bikini 4wks after having a baby...who does that?? I guess I am crazy but either way its adorable! Now for the tummy tuck....LOL!

Black Basics

When trying to build an "Ultimate Closet" good BLACK basics are really important. Here are four black must-haves for every wardrobe....

A simple black tank. Tanks and tees are so hot right now people are dressing them up for night and wearing them causal for day. Jeans or a cute skirt would work great with a basic black tank.
A Little Black dress. Every style diva needs one of these in her arsenal, you never know when you may need one. and I don't mean a funeral dress, a sexy black cocktail dress that you feel great in and it shows!! This cute little dress is by elizabeth and james and I love it...too bad its $$$. Maybe one day!

Black skinny jeans aren't something you think of as a basic but with current trends of being edgy and skinny jeans a good black pair is essential. This pair by Jbrand is on my hit list. I can't wait to wear these during fall with everything! The Jett, dark black wash is really a deep black and would look when dressed up with a cute clutch and a nice girly top!

Black Cardi.... What is more classic than this?? Its a very simple piece that is hard to live without. Make sure to get a good one, it will get used alot. Quality knit, nice buttons and good fitted cut are key when choosing one. I prefer the 3/4 length sleeves also, I think they look young and stylish. Long sleeves end up looking a little teacher/mom-ish if you aren't careful. I just bought this one from Jcrew and its perfect!

CHINESE LAUNDRY TURBO BOOTS

I love my TURBO BOOTS!!!!

After a recent trip to NYC I realized how behind in the times I was and how much I needed a pair of flat boots! I feel in love with this pair, they come in chocolate suede, black leather , black suede and a grey suede. These boots have been seen on many different celebs recently, LC, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale. I got a sweet deal on them off Amazon under a $100.

I bought the Chocolate suede pair but think that the black pair would be a good addition for next winter and fall. They are really comfty and turn lots of heads with their just over the knee length. You also have the option of folding them over or scrunching them down. There is a slight wedge around 1" to give you a tiny lift, its a perfect height for a short girl who wants to wear flat boots but thinks she can't.
So if you boot collection needs a boost....make it a TURBO!

Ashley Tisdale Style

Ok so again I have to fess up to being way older yet still digging this HSM Star's Style. BUT CAN YOU BLAME ME!!! Her style is so relaxed its so easy for a busy mommy of two to acheive, Motorcyle boots, flats or gladiator sandals, skinny jeans, a cute bag, and stylish top!!! All great basic pieces, I have already or what to add to my closet. Too bad i don't have her budget!!!

Fun and Summery

I am so glad I recently got a good deal on a fitted black leather jacket like hers, I am loving still wearing it when its chilly and next fall it will be even better. Her jeans are so cute but I don't think I can pull it off.

I am in love with these motorcyle boots!! I think I NEED them!

I love this dress by Gypsy 05 but since my DH isn't crazy about it, I guess its a look i will have to pass on.

BLONDES HAVE MORE FUN...AND STYLE!!!!

Ok so I really don't think that Blondes have better style but since I am a blonde I thought I would post some pics of blonde celebs with good style!

My new Sunnies!!!

Time for a change of SEE-NERY!!! Too get me in gear for Summer and in the excitement of a few warm days, I bought these adorable new Shades. They are a classic Aviator but with a sexy fem flair, as they hug your face. I finally had a sunny day to wear them and felt like the chic-est mommy on the playground, even though I was wearing sweats ;)

Vanessa Hudgens style!!!!

Ok Ok I will admit I am like 6 years older than her but still, I love her style or maybe just her stylist!!! Its almost embarassing for me to admit it but she seems to almost always have the perfect edgy sexy look going, I am really loving this look lately and hoping to rock it soon enough!! So enjoy a few of my fav V-hud's outfits!!!
